Taken from an 18th century Indo-Portuguese design, this tapestry has a rich symbolism with both ancient and medieval imagery, birds sit atop thistles, irises and grapevines which encircle an elaborately decorated urn. Here, lively greens, yolk yellow, deep lapis blue and cardinal red shine against an elegant cream ground.
