Black 6 Inch 5 Lever Horizontal Mortice Sash Lock

This Black 6 Inch 5 Lever Horizontal Mortice Sash Lock provides a traditional locking arrangement particularly suited to Victorian and other period-style doors fitted with mortice door knobs.

Unlike a conventional vertical sash lock, the horizontal design positions the keyhole alongside the door knob rather than directly beneath it. This creates the traditional arrangement often seen with period door furniture and allows the lock to be paired with mortice knobs and a separate decorative escutcheon.

The lock has a 151mm (approximately 6 inch) case, with a 57mm lock backset and a 127mm spindle backset. Its horizontal proportions make it particularly suitable for traditional doors where the knob and keyhole are positioned across the centre rail.

Featuring a 5 lever locking mechanism, the lock combines the latch operation required for a turning door knob with a key-operated deadbolt for locking the door. It is supplied with black-finished visible components to coordinate with traditional black iron door furniture.
