Anaglypta Wallpaper

Launched in 1887, Anaglypta wallpaper became extremely popular with the Victorians and continues to be widely used to paper the area below the dado particularly in hallways and stairs as it is hard wearing and covers a multitude of wall defects. The colours picked to paint the wall were conventionally darker to lighter as you progressed up towards the ceiling so the Anaglypta part of the wall tends to be painted several shades darker than the area above the dado. Lincrusta is a lino type weight of wallpaper giving more of a leather feel to the walls and is particularly hard wearing.
