Loose Socket in Primed Finish – For Cast Iron Style Downpipes (4 Widths, Spigot Eared or Plain)

This Loose Socket in Primed Finish is a traditional cast iron–style downpipe fitting designed to securely join two sections of pipe. Supplied with a durable primed coating ready for painting, it is ideal for heritage properties, period restorations and buildings where the guttering needs to be finished in a specific colour.

The socket is available in a choice of four widths, each with its corresponding length:

• Standard sizes are 68mm long
• The 150mm width version is 92mm long, offering additional depth for larger downpipe systems

You can choose between Spigot Eared and Spigot Plain versions:

• Spigot Eared – includes two small “ears” or lugs with fixing holes, allowing the socket to be mechanically fixed to the wall for added stability, especially on tall or exposed pipe runs.
• Spigot Plain – a smooth, ear‑less version for installations where a minimal appearance is preferred or where wall fixing is not required.

The loose socket design allows for easy alignment and adjustment during installation, helping to accommodate slight variations in pipe length or positioning. Once painted, the primed finish blends seamlessly with traditional cast iron guttering, maintaining an authentic period appearance.
