Product Details
A foliate cross with a dotted centre
Design 11 features four broad leafy arms extending diagonally towards the corners. Curved lobes and rounded recesses shape the outline, while a contrasting square with inward-curving sides frames a small central dot.
The photograph shows buff-coloured ornament on a red background, with the same buff colour picked out in the central dot. This illustrates one colour combination.
A small ornamental inset
Use the complete motif as an individual accent within a plain geometric floor, or repeat it at regular intervals to create a sequence of decorative crosses.
The design sits within the tile rather than continuing across its edges, allowing each inset to stand alone. Its diagonal leaves contrast with the straight joints of an aligned square-tile layout.
Confirm the exact dimensions and thickness before planning inset openings or choosing surrounding tiles and borders.
Genuine ceramic encaustic construction
Contrasting coloured clays form the decoration, which extends below the surface of the ceramic tile. This is genuine encaustic construction rather than a printed encaustic-effect finish.
Colour options and restoration
Alternative colour combinations are available by enquiry. The traditional palette includes red, buff, black, white and oatmeal. Please contact us to discuss colours for your chosen design or to coordinate with an existing floor.
For period property restoration, compare the broad corner leaves, curved square centre and small dot with the original tile. These details distinguish it from similar cross designs.
