Product Details
Eight-petal rosette and octagonal frame
Design 65 features eight flared petals radiating around a small scalloped centre. Each petal widens towards a pointed, lobed end, creating a regular floral arrangement.
A narrow octagonal band encloses the rosette, while four separate three-lobed ornaments occupy the corners of the square tile. The photograph shows buff-coloured decoration against a red background, illustrating one colour combination.
A complete framed motif
The full rosette and frame fit on one tile, making Design 65 useful as an individual decorative inset among plain geometric tiles.
Repeated in aligned rows, the design creates a grid of framed floral motifs. Alternatively, space the tiles apart to give each rosette greater emphasis within a simpler floor scheme.
The octagonal frame is part of the decoration: the tile has square edges. Check the dimensions, thickness and colours of surrounding tiles and borders before finalising the layout.
Genuine ceramic encaustic construction
Contrasting coloured clays form the decoration, which extends below the surface of the ceramic tile. This is genuine encaustic construction rather than a printed encaustic-effect finish.
