Flowing floral scrolls and patterned bands
Design 29 features a sweeping stem that curls around stylised flowers, lobed leaves and smaller leaf sprigs. The central scroll runs across the tile, creating a clear horizontal direction.
Above and below it, narrow bands contain a sequence of small four-petal flowers. Broad contrasting stripes frame these bands and separate them from the central decoration.
The photograph shows white floral scrollwork on blue, with buff-coloured flowers on black and buff framing stripes. This illustrates one colour combination.
Planning a decorative border
Place tiles side by side with the patterned bands aligned to explore a continuous decorative run. This arrangement can frame a geometric floor or define the edge of a larger patterned panel.
Dry-lay several tiles before fixing to check how the scrolling stems and smaller flowers meet at the joints. Plan changes of direction separately and enquire about suitable corner pieces or a tailored layout.
