A floral medallion with decorative corners

Design 37 centres on four branching leaf motifs arranged around a pointed, four-sided shape and a small circular centre. Contrasting rings frame the medallion, while smaller floral scrolls fill the corners of the square tile.

Genuine ceramic encaustic decoration

The pattern is formed using contrasting coloured clays, so the decoration extends below the surface of the ceramic tile. This traditional encaustic construction creates the design within the tile rather than as a printed surface pattern.
