Product Details
Four-petal medallion and scrolling foliage
Four stylised, three-lobed petals meet around a small circular centre, forming the focal point of Design 47. A broad ring encloses the flower, while sweeping leaf scrolls fill the surrounding space. Straight bands along the upper and lower edges give the tile a defined horizontal direction.
The photograph shows white petals against blue, with buff-coloured framing and foliage on a red background. This illustrates one colour combination.
Genuine ceramic encaustic decoration
Contrasting coloured clays form the decorative pattern, which extends below the tile surface. This is genuine ceramic encaustic construction rather than a surface-printed encaustic-effect finish.
Planning your Victorian floor
Placed side by side in the same orientation, the tiles create a sequence of circular floral motifs between the straight upper and lower bands. Lay out a small group before fixing to check how the side scrolls meet and establish the preferred repeat.
Individual tiles can also provide decorative focal points within a plain geometric floor. Choose surrounding tiles and borders by comparing their colours, dimensions and thickness together.
