Product Details
A scroll cartouche with floral ornament
Design 5 features a decorative central field enclosed by a broad frame with large inward-curling scrolls. A stylised fleur-de-lys ornament points towards the left in the photograph, while smaller leaf forms occupy the outer corners.
Straight upper and lower bands give the composition a clear horizontal direction. The photograph shows a blue central field, buff and golden-toned ornament, and reddish-brown outer areas. These are visual colour descriptions of the example shown.
Planning the directional pattern
Place several tiles side by side to explore how the cartouche edges and scrolls interact across a decorative run. Keep the upper and lower bands aligned, and dry-lay a sample group before fixing to establish the preferred orientation.
The banded composition can also be considered when planning a framed floor panel. Confirm any proposed repeat and corner arrangement before ordering, as the photograph shows only a single tile.
Compare the dimensions, thickness and colours of surrounding geometric tiles and borders before finalising your scheme.
Genuine ceramic encaustic construction
Contrasting coloured clays form the decoration, which extends below the ceramic surface. This is genuine encaustic construction rather than a printed encaustic-effect finish.
Colour options and restoration
Alternative colour combinations are available by enquiry. Please contact us to confirm the colours supplied and discuss how they will coordinate with an existing floor or a new layout.
For period property restoration, compare the cartouche outline, large scrolls, central ornament and smaller corner details with the original tiles.
