c.1875 A grand late 19th century design, the origins of this design are to be found in the painting "St Nicholas" by Hans Memlinc. It was most notably used for the drapes in the Grand Committee Room in the Palace of Westminster. Illustrated here with the pattern enlarged to a single horizontal repeat across the width of the fabric.
